Bonavita BV1900TS: Is It a Best Coffee Maker?
I would like to write this review about the Bonavita BV1900TS right away after the first use. Finally, I have found my favorite drip-coffee maker for my home-brewing hobby! This coffee maker is just as if it was made for me. I am in love with the artisan pour-over brewing method. However, a manual pour-over cup of Joe takes me time in the morning and eventually, I have no time to rest, sit and enjoy my cup.
Thus, I have been searching for a simple coffee maker that can make a tasty pour-over coffee cup quickly. The Bonavita coffee maker 8-cup has no timer, no additional buttons, no LED screens but the quality of brewed coffee is perfect for me. Don’t waste time anymore, follow me to know why I have become its big fan.
Honestly, I was not interested in the Bonavita 8 cup coffee maker with thermal carafe at first sight. Fortunately, a friend of mine had strongly advised me to take a look at it and I went from surprise to surprise with this coffee maker.
AVERAGE SCORE8.5
What to consider while selecting a good coffee maker?
➜ Brewing temperature
As I know, the best temperature to make a tasty cup of coffee is between 196°F to 205°F. It means that I need to look for a coffee machine that can work at this temperature. My tip for you is to read the box of the product to know about this information. Most trusted brands will state the brewing temperature on their packages.
➜ Brewing capacity
Brewing size is the second thing that I think of when choosing a coffee maker. Since my husband and I are both coffee-lovers, I will not go in for a coffee maker that only serves a single cup each time. A machine with a family-sized carafe can meet our daily needs while a single-serving machine is suitable for people living alone or a family where each member has their favorite coffee style.

➜ Ease of use and ease of cleaning
As my morning cannot start without a cup of coffee, a simple-to-use coffee maker is an indispensable factor when choosing a coffee machine. I want to give most of my morning time for a tasty cup of coffee; thus, I will avoid a complicated coffee maker. What I want is a machine where I just need to add coffee and water and then, push one button.
Moreover, ease of cleaning is one of my critical deciding factors. A machine with few parts to clean and that is dishwasher-friendly is a perfect choice for me.
More importantly, cleaning is part of the maintenance procedure for the better and longer life of a coffee machine. For me, choosing a product that offers easy cleaning is also a way to save time and money.
➜ Space efficiency
My kitchen is not spacious anymore for a big coffee maker. For this reason, I will look carefully at the dimensions of the product to see if it fits on the little corner of my kitchen. If I have to put the coffee maker away after each use, I think I might find myself using it less.
➜ SCAA Certification
This program is developed by coffee experts to determine if a coffee maker can meet all the requirements to brew high-quality coffee. These requirements are about water temperature, brewing time, and brewing performance. Only a limited number of coffee makers in the market are certified and I want to go for a certified product like this.
I know my habits more than anyone. These are all the most important factors when it comes to choosing a coffee maker at home.
Now,
Let’s see how the Bonavita BV1900TS 8-cup carafe coffee brewer stainless steel perfectly exceeds my personal needs.
Bonavita BV1900TS Review
Coffee taste
The main reason why I would like to invest in a “luxury” coffee maker is to have great cups of coffee for my family. Having a coffee maker at home is more cost-efficient and time-efficient than having a cup of coffee every day at a coffee shop.
This coffee maker can reach 1500-watt heat quickly and keeps this temperature throughout the brewing cycle to ensure the optimal result.
In terms of brewing quality, the best coffee maker Bonavita is highly appreciated thanks to its new feature called “Pre-infuse mode”. It means that a portion of water will drip onto coffee for a few seconds. This step allows coffee grounds to bloom before brewing.
Besides, the SCAA Certified of the Specialty Coffee Association of America is a warranty for the coffee taste. There are 7 drip-coffee machines that meet standards set by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA certification) and the Bonavita coffee maker 8-cup is one among them. It is another big plus for this coffee maker.
The thermal carafe ensures that the coffee stays warm for 4 hours at over the 150°F mark. Most consumers have described the taste of coffee from this machine as “smooth”. The shower-head lid gives the coffee a balanced and less bitter taste.
Ease of use
I need to give the Bonavita 8-cup coffee maker with thermal carafe the highest rating thanks to its “simplicity” in design and operation.
The machine has only one button for everything. It is for turning ON and OFF the machine as well as for activating the “Pre-infusion mode”. What you need to do is to get used to the different blinking lights to know what the machine is doing.
Every morning, when I wake up, I just put some water and then push one button. You only need to press the button and the machine turns itself off when the brewing cycle finishes.
The “simplicity” here is also about its ease of cleaning. The machine will give you an alert for cleaning and simply follow the instructions of the manufacturer. There are not many parts to clean and most of them are dishwasher safe, except the stainless-steel carafe. The lid of the carafe, the filter basket, as well as the showerhead can be cleaned in a dishwasher. It does have the glass carafe (dishwasher safe!) for this model but I am comfortable with the stainless-steel thermal carafe.
Capacity
The name of the Bonavita drip-coffee maker tell us that it can make a lot of coffee at once. It is suitable for my family as we all drink the same type of coffee during our breakfast.
More specifically, the machine prepares 8 cups of coffee in about 5 minutes and a half. If you choose the pre-infusion mode before brewing, it takes around 45 seconds more to finish the brewing cycle.
So, you can prepare your breakfast and enjoy your cup of joe.
Durability
I have done a lot of research online about the durability of this coffee maker because it costs more than $100. It is hard to find negative comments about it as most parts are made of stainless steel. It also comes with a two-year warranty and exceptional customer service.

A Final Word
When our daily life is getting complicated, we would like to turn back to simplicity. Don’t you agree with me? I feel this 8-cup carafe coffee brewer is simple but still highly functional. The manufacturer has taken simplicity to heart when introducing this coffee maker while still ensuring high-quality and consistent coffee.
The machine is small and simple but can still manage to make mouth-watering coffee. However, nothing is all positive. This coffee machine is not for everyone. If you expect a machine to have more sophisticated programming options that can get your cup of joe ready before you wake up, you should perhaps not consider this product.
